PM receives Brazilian Minister of External Relations

PM Nguyen Tan Dung on July 27 received Brazilian Minister of External Relations Mauro Vieira, who is in an official visit to Viet Nam.

Appraising the outcomes in the talks between Brazilian Minister and Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, PM Dung observed that the Brazilian Minister’s visit will make crucial contribution to the two nations’ bilateral relations.
Viet Nam attaches importance to the relations with Brazil, expecting to promote the relationship in all areas, bringing benefits for both, he asserted.

He also confirmed that Vietnamese leaders welcome the Brazilian President’s visit to Viet Nam at the end of this year, proposing the two sides’ relevant agencies to closely coordinate to prepare for the visit.


The two countries need to accelerate bilateral mechanisms and agreements to enhance cooperation in terms of economics, trade and investment as well as support each other at multi-lateral forums, contributing to international and regional peace, stability, security and cooperation.

Regarding the talks with Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Minister Mauro Luiz Vieira revealed that the two sides consented to strengthen bilateral cooperation in politics, diplomacy, economics and investment.

Brazil will soon recognize Viet Nam as a market economy, actively negotiate to ink the Agreement on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments with Viet Nam and strive to raise the two-way trade turnover from US$3 billion in 2014 to US$10 billion by 2020, he added.

He affirmed that Brazil is ready to support Viet Nam to run for a non-permanent member seat in the United Nations Security Council
